ALBEMARLE VP DELIGHTED WITH BUNBURY GEOGRAPHE’S ‘WARM WELCOME’

The Bunbury Geographe Growth Plan Partnership Steering Committee and many of the region’s business and industry leaders shared a delightful social sundowner with Edwin Berends, the Vice President Engineering – Ore Concentrate to Lithium Salt Conversion, Albemarle, when he visited Bunbury on January 11.

With Albemarle’s plans for a proposed advanced lithium manufacturing plant at Kemerton quickly developing, representatives from over 20 organisations, together with the Presidents of the Shires of Capel, Collie, Dardanup, Donnybrook-Balingup and Harvey and the Mayor of Bunbury, took this early opportunity to offer Edwin an introduction to the commercial and lifestyle opportunities Bunbury Geographe has to offer.

Edwin thanked the Steering Committee, saying “that it was a pleasure for Alice (Edwin’s spouse) and myself” to visit the area and that they were “honoured by the warm welcome, beautiful tour…” which included the magnificent views from the 10th floor of the Bunbury Tower, Bunbury Port Inner Harbour, Koombana Foreshore, Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area and the Ferguson Valley.

Chair of the Steering Committee, Cr. Mick Bennett commented that “For the Bunbury Geographe region to grow, we need people to know we are open for business”.

Albemarle is a US based company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company has operations globally and is also listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
